Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed for students aged 11 to 14, and covers grades 6 through 8. We follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum resource for the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Global Perspectives. This curriculum is pivotal in supporting learners during their critical transition from lower secondary to High School education, a phase marked by significant developmental changes and increased academic demands.
Our timetable includes the core subjects - English, Chinese, Mathematics, Science and Global Perspectives, and additional subjects of Art, Music, Physical Education, Dance, Drama and ICT. This wide-ranging approach ensures students receive a comprehensive educational experience fostering intellectual growth and personal development. Moreover, the our curriculum is inherently flexible, enabling our teachers to adapt the content and teaching methods to better align with their students’ individual learning styles and needs. We offer two strands at WES International Lower Secondary – English Mainstream and English EAL.
This adaptability enhances student engagement and promotes a deeper understanding of the material. By maintaining an internationally recognised standard of excellence, the curriculum ensures that students are well-prepared for the challenges of higher secondary education and beyond. It encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity, essential skills for success in a rapidly changing world.
